Book List and April 19 Meeting

Our April 19 meeting will be at Kristen's house.  We will be discussing The Small Woman by Alan Burgess.

Looking ahead:  Bitsy has chosen The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, this year's "Boise Reads" book to discuss in October.

July and August are still open for anyone interested in hosting those months.  Let me know!

We talked about listing some book titles that we might want to consider for future meetings.  If you've read any of the ones below, please make a comment as to appropriateness and/or whether you liked the book.

I have several lists of books.  Here's one of them. This list was used to choose a book for Boise Reads.  I don't know much about several of them.  Let me know if you do.

The Age of Innocence By Edith Wharton
Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya
The Death of Ivan Ilyish by Leo Tolstoy
The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers
A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines
Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich

The Shawl by Cynthia Ozick
Sun, Stone, and Shadows by Jorge Hernandez
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
The Thief and the Dogs by Naguib Mahfouz
The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
Washington Square by Henry James
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin
