January & February 2013

Pam has chosen “The Snow Child” by Eowyn Ivey for our January 17, 2013 book.  There are many copies available through the Library, but it must be popular because there are holds on them so people that want a library book will have to jump on that right away.  She bought hers from Costco for $8.99.

Karen has chosen "I'll Watch the Moon" by Ann Tatlock for our February 21 meeting.

January 2012 Meeting

This month's book selection is Criss Cross by Lynne Rae Perkins.  We are meeting at Judy's house.

Our Web Site for Past Reads

Locust Grove Literary Society

The Locust Grove Literary Society was founded in 1995 in Meridian, Idaho. Started by a few church ladies who like to read, it has grown to about 20 consistent members over the past 12 years.
We meet once a month January through November. Members take turns hosting the meetings and choosing the books. Discussion includes why the book was chosen, information about the author, and likes and dislikes of plot, character, etc. Dessert and conversation follow, making the evening a wonderful “girls night out” with an educational bonus.
One advantage of being in a book club is expanding your horizons by reading books that you may not have selected yourself. We have high standards of decency in the books we choose. For the most part, we enjoy classics and tend to avoid self-helps.
